Covid 19 required rapid innovation to respond to the global crisis

Quest Diagnostics played a critical role in the COVID-19 response by providing COVID-19 testing services to individuals and communities.  Quest Diagnostics was one of the largest independent diagnostics laboratory companies in the U.S., and offered both PCR and Antigen tests to patients.  Quest Diagnostics was called upon several times to provide unique services.

1.  FEMA wanted to provide a standard model for communities to deploy testing in a safe environment.  They needed infrastructure that would allow streamlined throughput, stable and predictable logistics, repeatable infrastructure, all at scale.
I was able to work with FEMA directly to ensure that the standard quality measures for testing were supported and embedded within the operating protocols.  The process was tested in different environments before being deployed nationally.

2.  The NBA wanted a secure campus-style environment established in the summer of 2020 during the pandemic.  The bubble was created at Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando to provide a safe and controlled environment for NBA players, coaches, and staff to complete the 2019-2020 season.
Prior to arriving at Walt Disney World, my teams established local testing to the professional teams at their training locations.  Once they arrived on site, the team was able to continue their testing allowing the NBA to complete their season.

3.  Quest Diagnostics supported the 2021 presidential inauguration by providing COVID-19 testing services for the event. Given the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, widespread testing was seen as a key component of the planning.
Built upon my team's success with FEMA and the NBA, we were chosen to test individuals involved with the inauguration, including attendees, staff, and security personnel, as well as additional tests to monitor for outbreaks and ensure the safety of all involved.
